I haven't updated in a little while, so I've got a bunch of mark products to review!

Today we're looking at; For Goodness Face, That's Deep purifying gel cleanser, mark Matte Chance mattifying lotion, mark It Kit trend color compact, Good Riddance hook up concealer, and Salon Straight Pre-style Protector

-For Goodness Face antioxidant skin moisturizing SPF 30- Well, I should get this one out of the way first. I'm not in love with this lotion. There are good and bad sides to this moisturizer. Starting with the good, this moisturizer has SPF 30 coverage for protection against UVA and UVB rays. It also works very well as a super moisturizer- I wore this moisturizer as a night time cream one night, and my face looked amazing the next morning. For Goodness Face is loaded with antioxidants from dark chocolate and blueberries, so you aren't slathering chemicals all over your face. Also it has a really creative dispensing pump; when you remove the lid, you simply press down on the top of the container and a small amount of product squeezes out the top like a tiny, low pressure fountain. The design is really nice since you don't have to actually leave the lid on if you don't want to. The negatives. First off, this moisturizer is nowhere near as light as the other mark lotions I've used so far. It is as thick as other commercial products, but I wasn't prepared for it after using See Things Clearly, and Matte Chance. The other thing I didn't like was that I couldn't really use it under the Get a Tint tinted moisturizer because Get a Tint already has SPF 15 in it, so doubling up made my face feel super greasy. (Honestly though, if I had used a bronzer instead of another moisturizer this may not have been the same outcome). Lastly, all the mark reviews claim there is no smell with this product, but I completely disagree. All I smelled while applying it was sunscreen. I think if you are looking for a deep moisturizing lotion, with SPF, this product *could* be for you, provided you don't mind how thick it will feel on your skin and the initial heavy sunscreen smell. :( Not my favourite, folks; but you can always try it for yourself and tell me how wrong I am if you love it. +That's Deep Purifying gel cleanser- Loved it! If you want to get a deep clean for your face after you get back from the gym, or you sat in a hot car in traffic, this cleanser is your new best friend. That's Deep is soap-free, which means it's not going to dry out your face or make your skin peel. It also has a special blend of sugar maple, and black willow bark, that helps breakdown dirt, oil and left over makeup so your pores stay clean and unclogged! Your face will feel clean and smooth without feeling dry or stripped. The only downside to this product? It's not yet available! Such a tease. +mark Matte Chance mattifying lotion- This is another must have lotion! When I first tried this lotion, I really did not believe it was going to do anything for my oily skin. I thought, it was too light, it went on too smoothly, this is not going to work. I was wrong. This mattifying lotion, actually took the oily shine off my face, without turning my skin into a dried out husk. Matte Chance is oil free and super light, and has a blend of oil absorbing ingredients to make sure you stay shine free. One of those magic ingredients is sugar cane, which is a natural alpha-hydroxy; alpha hydroxy ingredients have been used for centuries because of their rejuvenating properties for the skin. +mark It Kit trend color compact- This compact has gracefully defeated all other compacts I will ever use. The It Kit has the same design as the Flip For It urban neutrals compact, but instead of only 7 shades, this has 10 shades for spring. 10 shades! On one side of the palette, you have 3 lip glosses and 3 triple use color creams. I love mark's lip gloss- they go on so smoothly and last a long time. The color creams are fantastic, you can use them as an eyeshadow, a cheek blush, or as a lip colour and in any of those uses, the cream goes on smoothly and clean. The triple use creams feel nothing like a gooey lip cream- they are completely silky, and cover your eyelids, skin and lips like nothing I've used before. On the other side of the palette, there are 3 eyeshadows and a bronzer that is universally flattering. I have used the It Kit trend color compact everyday since I got it. +Good Riddance hook up concealer-This concealer does the trick. I don't get much sleep, so concealer is a necessary item in my makeup bag- and this concealer is wonderful. Good Riddance is oil free, so it's not a slimy concealer that seems to melt away from your eyes as the day goes on. Also because it's a creamy stick formula, it doesn't pull or tear at your undereye skin while you're applying it. This concealer is also really good for hiding acne and acne scars on your face, and it didn't smear or stand out when I applied my tinted moisturizer on top of it. You'll get nice, even coverage with Good Riddance, just remember because it is a Hook Up product, it is a smaller size stick than your average store-bought concealer. Pick up Good Riddance here.

+Salon Straight PreStyle Protector- I have to admit, I rarely have reason to wear my hair down- however when I do wear it down it needs to be completely straight. Salon Straight actually makes my hair straight with simple blow-drying. Also it nourishes my hair so I don't end up with split ends or scare-crow straw hair after I use a hot hair dryer or a flat iron. All I have to do is spray the prestyle protector into my hair while it's still wet- I work it through with my fingers and then use the hair dryer to blow it out. After I blow-dry my hair, it's super silky feeling and straight as can be. I like that it doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy or heavy, and it doesn't have that weird stringy/stretchy feeling once it coats the hair strand. Some of the product reviews on the site claim that Salon Straight has an overpower smell, but I really didn't get that. It does have a scent when you first apply it and while you're blowing it out, but it isn't overpowering and it does not linger in your hair. A few minutes after you've dried your hair you can smell the product if you put your hair up to your nose, but you can't smell it once you get into your car in the morning, or if you're sitting having your coffee. Today, I'm talking about four "hook up" face treatments; "get clearance", "need a shrink", "light bright" and "get bright".


+"get clearance" anti-acne blemish treatment gel- i really like this gel. So far it's working just as well, if not better than most over the counter acne treatments, but it isn't drying my skin to dust in the process. Get clearance goes on very easily, without discolouring my skin, so i don't end up with a big bleached out spot on my face where I applied it. Also I like that it seems to be working without making my skin super sensitive or overly red. I like that i can put it on in the morning and by evening my breakout seems to have diminished to almost nothing. My only complaint, is that since it is a "hook up" product, you can only buy it in a small tube. However, only being sold in a tube should not be a deterrent, this is an excellent product. +"need a shrink" pore minimizer lotion- is AWESOME. This 'hook up' is a light cream that reduces the look of pores (really!) and minimizes excess oils. It goes on smooth and absorbs quickly into your skin. It has no smell and also tones the skin while you're wearing it. You can use this under your makeup without your makeup changing texture and it doesn't react with your everyday moisturizer, so you can wear both without an issue. +"light bright" lighten & depuff eye gel- another 'hook up' I wish came in a gigantic tub! This gel is fantastic for dark circles. I don't usually get puffy eyes, so I can't tell you how 'light bright' works on puffiness, but it is wonderful for disguising dark circles. I even tested this out by putting it under one eye and not the other; there was a noticable difference between both eyes. It is completely colourless and odorless so you can wear it under any makeup or moisturizer you decide to wear for the day. Order here.




+"get bright" hook up highlighter- You can use this 'hook up' to highlight undereyes, cheek bones, brow bones or really any place you want to add a little brightness. This is not a concealer! so don't depend only on this as an undereye coverup. This does add a nice brightness around the eyes, especially if you didn't get enough sleep the night before. Order here.

Start Kit Reviews Part II

The final piece of my starter kit review, featuring: "flip for it", "scanda-lash", and "glow baby glow".


+'flip for it' trend picks urban naturals- this compact is the coolest thing i have ever seen in makeup. when you open the compact it already has all your eyeshadows and blush set up for two looks, a daytime and evening look- AND it comes with a little card explaining how to apply your nighttime and daytime look flawlessly. the other super thing about this compact is that after you've done your regular face powders, you can flip the entire center palette over and there are four lip covers on the other side, two creamy colours and two glosses. this puts two complete looks into one compact that is the size of a plain one colour generic compact. you can stick this in your bag and go from absolutely no makeup to completely put together in literally 2 minutes. i love it. +'scanda-lash' hook-up mascara makes super long separated lashes with very natural flattering colours. it's been a long time since i've used mascara with a bristle brush, but this has converted me. it coats the lashes very evenly and is a nice smooth consistency; it's not a clumpy mascara. as far as the name, at first i couldn't figure out why it was called 'hook up', but it turns out to be a very clever little design. the mascara is in a short little tube with a smaller head instead of a long handle, this is so you can attach your mascaras together with the 'hook up' connector. you can have a double sided mascara; so two different colours on one tube, or you can have your mascara connected to a lip gloss, which comes in pretty handy for me. the hook up design is super convenient for multiple looks. +'glow baby glow' hookup lip gloss- this lip gloss is so smooth! it comes in several flattering colours and all of them can be added together with your hook up connector. i really like the look and feel of this gloss, and it lasts a long time before i felt like i wanted to reapply. it didn't have that sticky puckered mouth feeling while i was wearing it, just a nice smooth lip. i also like that it isn't over-powering with shimmer, it doesn't distract the eye it's simply a nice lip shine to compliment the face. +'go with the grain' exfoliating beads are incredible. two reasons i love them- one, it smooths away any dry skin or imperfections without being harsh or scratchy, it feels like a facial massage, and two, you can use the beads with whatever cleanser you are already using. if you have a favourite cleanser but it doesn't have any exfoliant in it, you can sprinkle a little of 'go with the grain' into the cleanser and presto. awesome face wash with exfoliating beads! order here.




+'see things clearly' brightening moisturizer- if you're familiar with a product called "eyecon" you'll be excited about 'see things clearly'. this moisturizer is to die for. it absorbs quickly into the skin and isn't sticky or heavy. it doesn't give you that feeling of being covered in fried food grease. once it absorbs it feels so natural it almost makes you wonder if you applied it incorrectly. i love this moisturizer. it doesn't clog up your pores or make you greasy during the day either. it has a very light orangey smell when you first apply it which is nice- if you hate oranges, have no fear the smell disappears after application. this also really does brighten your face and give you a summery glow without looking slimey. order here.


+'get a tint' tinted moisturizer lotion is fantastic for a healthy sunned looking face. first, its a super creamy lotion that spreads evenly on your skin, second, the tint is so natural that it really looks like you were having a quick little time about the backyard before getting ready for your day. it's particularly nice if you're unspeakably pale like i am. it covered my face without making me look orange or obviously tinted. i had a nice warm glow all day, and it never made my skin itchy like some other moisturizing tints. definitely a nice little addition to my skin routine. order here.

I got my starter kit from mark* earlier this week and so far i am loving everything. here's a rundown of all the goodies i've gotten so far.
